Clothes & Stories Swap is a quarterly gathering in Rochdale where women come together to exchange not just clothes, but also their stories. Our event is a celebration of sustainability and community, where preloved items find new homes and connections are made.
Leading up to each event, we collect and sort preloved clothing, shoes, accessories, and care packages. When the weekend arrives, our dedicated team of staff and volunteers transform the space into a bustling marketplace, offering a wide array of items to be chosen by attendees who bring clothes to swap or simply join us to refresh their wardrobe.

In April 2023, we hosted our fourth Clothes Swap, welcoming over 175 women from the community. Our event has become a cornerstone of Rochdale, cherished by women who appreciate both the opportunity to acquire affordable clothing and the chance to contribute to environmental sustainability. For many attendees facing financial hardship, our swap provides a lifeline.
Beyond clothes, our swap fosters a supportive and nurturing environment. It’s a space where community flourishes, where participants can enjoy a meal, engage in creative expression, and connect with others. Through themed sessions on body confidence, the significance of clothing, and environmental awareness, we inspire dialogue and reflection.
