CHORUS LEADER
‘We are still Asafo’ is our new show inspired by the experiences of the African diaspora, in West Africa, the Caribbean and UK. Borrowing from Ghanaian flag making traditions and ritual, the show pays tribute to the journeys of our communities and the ancestral connections we share — and how these links may help us in these troubled times.
We are looking for someone to lead our chorus as part of our new show, ‘We are still Asafo’ with Bradford 2025. Written & Directed by Liz Mytton, and Assistant Director Etta Fusi.
We are looking for a chorus leader who will work with the director and choreographer to help guide our chorus both vocally and theatrically. Working and helping them to be dynamic, but in tune with each other, narrating the story as an ensemble.

Saturday 18 October 2025, 10.30am – 1.00pm
Saturday 25 October 2025, 1.30pm – 4.30pm
Friday 31 October 2025, 1.30pm – 4.30pm
Saturday 1 November 2025, 10.30am – 4.30pm
Tuesday 4 November 2025, Full day (time tbc)
Wednesday 5 November 2025, Full day (time tbc)
Friday 7 November 2025, Full day, including evening (time tbc)
Rehearsals will be in Bradford unless otherwise stated. We would prefer someone who is local or within easy travelling distance of Bradford as travel will not be covered.
How to apply
For the chorus director role we are asking applicants to answer the following questions:
-Have you directed a chorus before?
-What experience do you have as both a chorus director and working in theatre?
-Do you feel comfortable working harmonies out with the chorus and feel like you can bring the best out in members?
-What does ‘ancestors’ mean to you?
-Are you available for all of the dates?

The fee for the project is £2380 (based on 14 sessions, there is an additional session to be added).
